Dallas is the county seat of Paulding County and is home to around 12,629 people. Located west of downtown Atlanta, Dallas is the home of popular country music star Patty Loveless. Another great place to visit would be Picket’s Mill Battlefield Historic Site. It is a Civil War battlefield from an 1864 battle that served as one of the few Confederate victories in Georgia. The battlefield is one of the best preserved in the country and features a museum, earthworks, and trails. While you are in the area, other Hot Spots would include Paulding Fine Arts Center, a visit to the Paulding County Historical Society Museum, and the Dallas Theater.
